Where the required notice is not provided, payment may be forfeited, subject to the applicable booking and cancellation terms.

Punctuality

Clients are expected to be available and ready to begin at the scheduled appointment time.

For online sessions, clients should ensure that their device, internet connection, and private session environment are ready before the appointment begins.

Professional boundaries

Counselling services are provided within the counsellor’s professional scope of practice, applicable ethical requirements, and the agreed terms of service.

Counselling is not an emergency or crisis-response service. Where a client’s circumstances require a different level or type of care, an appropriate referral or alternative support may be recommended.

Suitability & continuation of services

The practice reserves the right to decline, pause, or discontinue counselling services where:

  • the client’s needs fall outside the scope of the service;
  • another level or type of professional care is more appropriate;
  • there are significant safety or risk concerns requiring alternative support;
  • the counselling relationship cannot be maintained within appropriate professional boundaries; or
  • continuation of the service is otherwise considered professionally inappropriate.

Where appropriate, the client may be provided with information about alternative services or referral options.
